Adventure

Diving, skydiving, mountain climbing, hiking, volcano zipline and many more

– for Badr, the adventure has only just begun.

The Seven Summits:

The Seven Summits Challenge is a life goal for the avid mountaineer, and to complete it, a climber must reach the summit of the highest mountain peak in each of the seven continents. It was first completed in 1985 when Texas oil tycoon Dick Bass reached the summit of Mt Everest. Today, roughly 300 people have completed the challenge.

In 2022, having summited seven of the peaks, Dr. Badr Al Shibani climbed both Everest and Denali in the same year, proudly completing the Seven Summits Challenge.

Last Degree Antarctica:

Dr. Badr participated in the Last Degree Antarctica expedition, one of the most demanding polar journeys, involving a full traverse of the final degree of latitude to the South Pole on foot.

The route covered over 120 kilometers across open ice fields, with 10 consecutive days of on-ice travel, as part of an overall expedition lasting nearly two weeks including preparation and acclimatization. The team faced extreme cold, strong polar winds, complete isolation, and the continuous hauling of sleds carrying essential supplies.

Empty Quarter Desert

Dr. Badr completed a 600-kilometer on-foot crossing of the Rub’ al-Khali, the world’s largest continuous sand desert, over more than 14 days of sustained travel.

The expedition required precise route planning, strict water and supply management, and continuous navigation through extreme heat, total isolation, and featureless terrain with shifting sand formations.

Hijra Trail

Dr. Badr undertook a long-distance trek along the Hijra Trail, covering over 520 kilometers in 11 days between Makkah and Madinah.

The journey involved sustained daily walking, passing key historical landmarks, and following a route closely aligned with the original Hijra path. This expedition forms the basis of the upcoming documentary Hijra Trail.

Son Doong Cave (Vietnam)

Dr. Badr joined an expedition into Son Doong Cave in Vietnam, the world’s largest known natural cave. The cave features immense chambers reaching over 200 meters in height, with internal rivers and self-contained ecosystems.

The expedition lasted five days underground, involving long traverses, river crossings, rope sections, and full reliance on specialized technical equipment.

Amazon Rainforest

Dr. Badr undertook an exploratory survival experience in the Amazon rainforest, one of the world’s most complex and challenging environments.

The expedition involved extreme humidity, wildlife exposure, limited mobility, equipment degradation, and securing basic needs in dense jungle conditions. This journey forms the foundation of the upcoming documentary about the Amazon.
